New Tribe Media was tasked with producing and filming a short film that captured the planting, growth and harvest of winter oilseed crops during a pilot for a new innovative cover crop Chevron has developed in partnership with Corteva and CoverCress. The film was shot from fall 2023 to fall 2024 in Illinois, Tennessee and Kentucky.
The goal was to highlight the experiences and insights of farmers as they navigated the challenges and opportunities of growing the oilseed cover crop and what it means for the farms' soil health and a more sustainable future. Through this film, Chevron's commitment to lower carbon energy and biofuel production was brought to the forefront. It also illustrates how farmers contribute to and benefit from cover crops that can be processed into fuel.
